*** What's New in Contact Browser 5.0.4 ***
- Added feature to look up contact's address locations using
MapQuest and Microsoft Expedia Maps on the Internet.
The address tab has two new buttons. One is a link to
Expedia, the other to MapQuest. This feature is available
for U.S. and Canadian address only. You can use either
Expedia or MapQuest for addresses in the United States.
For Canadian addresses, use MapQuest.
If the contact's Address is in the US, both links will be
shown. If it is a Canadian address, only MapQuest will be
shown, and if it is an address outside the US and Canada,
neither link will be shown.
*** What's New in Contact Browser 5.0.3 ***
- Changed the dialer to not use calling card information if
the number being dialed is a toll free number (800, 888,
or 877).
- Changed dialer to override calling card information if the
number begins with an exclamation point (!).
- Fix a problem where sorting on memo fields would result in
an illegal operation. This occurred if you had either notes
or e-mail as a column in your contact list and clicked on
the column heading to sort the list by that column.
- Fixed security flaw in category lists where private contacts
were being displayed regardless of the user login.
- Changed the default sort order of Call History to be most
recent call first.
- Fixed problem with new contact documents being created
with same name as an already opened document.
- Fixed problem with e-mail addresses not being displayed in
the Contact List and Report List.
- Changed the field "Jr, Sr..." to "Suffix".
- Fixed a bug where address information from one contact was
overwriting addresses in another, and in some cases
duplicating contacts. This would only happen under somewhat
rare circumstances.
- Fixed printing of lists and reports to hide or show grid
lines based on the table property settings.
*** What's New in Contact Browser 5.0 ***
- User Administrator: Users are given access to the databases
through a new program called the User Admin. Only users
added through the User Admin can have access to a database.
Additionally, users can have either Read-Only, or full
Read-Write access. Users with Read-Only access have full
access to the data, but cannot make any changes, additions,
deletions, etc.
- 20 User definable custom fields have been added for greater
flexibility and customization. Each field can be renamed to have
it's own unique meaning.
- A "Pick List" feature has been added to each custom field. This
allows the user to assign a list of pre-defined choices to each
custom field, eliminating data entry errors for fields that are
meant to contain finite values.
- Four additional tabs were added to handle the 20 custom fields.
Each tab can be given a unique name appropriate to the custom
field's uses.
- Added the custom fields to Sorting, Filtering, Searching, and
Queries.
- Enhanced the Report Wizard to handle custom fields, option to
use AND or OR query combinations, and ability to specify BEGINS
WITH, CONTAINS, or EQUALS for each available field in the
Report Wizard.
- Added a new E-Mail tab, which can handle an unlimited number of
e-mail addresses per contact.
- Added an Export Wizard for creating delimited text files of
contact data.
- Added an Envelope Wizard for printing envelopes.
- An all new Contact Wizard has been added to make data entry of
contacts easier. The Contact Wizard can be used to create new
contact records, edit existing contact records, or to create
new contacts from existing contacts.
- You can now arrange the Tabs as single-row or multi-row.
- Added the ability to sort on column headings (mouse click).
- An option was added to show reminders in the system tray instead
of the Reminders Dialog, which can be intrusive to the user.
Showing reminders in the system tray is the default.
- Added an option to have the program minimize to the system tray.
This saves space on the task bar.
- New List Properties allows users to change the list fonts and
colors, including an alternating color scheme (check book
style). The Contact List, Report List, Call History List, and
Reminders List all include this feature.
- Now supports printing color for contact lists and report lists
(with an option to turn off color printing for speed).
- Added the ability to change the display font for notes fields.
Right click on the Notes window to select the font option.
- Rearranged the contact name fields to move the less commonly
used fields out of the way.
